SUGAR POINT RESORT -Center Stage to the Fishing Trip of a Lifetime

We are located on the East Shore of Leech Lake

As a nationally recognized gamefish lake of over 110,000 acres, Leech Lake offers some of the best fishing in the Midwest.

Walleye fishing is back and stronger than ever. Many fish are being caught within and outside the slot. The Department of Natural Resources' five point plan, which included stocking, cormorant reduction and habitat restoration, has been very successful. Musky fishing has been exceptional the past few years, with so many beautiful fish being caught and released. Jumbo perch are making a comeback. Bass fishing activity continues to be strong in Boy Bay. Northern Pike are abundant and a blast to catch.

Bottom line - Leech Lake affords a memorable fishing experience for everyone!

Sugar Point has a large protected harbor offering full gas and bait services. We offer a variety of boat rental and motor combinations, or a boat slip to rent. Besides fishing, the lake offers a wide range of water activities, from beach activities
to waterskiing or exploring.

The majority of our guests do not have to go far to have a successful fishing experience. Sugar Point Resort's location on Leech Lake outstanding!! There are numerous popular waypoint destinations only a few minutes from the harbor. Many people fish right out in front of the resort with great success.

Leech Lake is known for its abundance of game fish and pan fish. But, many fishermen come solely for the trophy Walleye, Musky and Northern Pike.

Do not overlook the plate-sized spring and fall crappies and the big bluegills and sunnies. If you want fantastic action, the bass are almost always cooperating.

Many of our guests book a cabin and a fishing guide to amp up their fishing experience. Contact a professional, licensed fishing guide to find your limit of walleye, hunt a trophy Musky, kick back with your Buds and let someone else run the boat and rig the poles, or get a priceless experience learning the lake. Guides are available for all species of fish for all ages and skill levels of fishermen. We recommend finding a US Coast Guard certified guide. We would be happy to help put you in contact with one of many great Leech Lake guides.
