Leech Lake is gearing up for another season of outstanding fishing. As a nationally recognized gamefish lake of 110,000 acres, Leech Lake offers some of the best fishing in the Midwest.
Musky fishing has been exceptional the past few years, with many beautiful fish being caught and released. Bass fishing activity continues strong in Boy Bay. Walleye fishing is back and stronger than ever. Many fish are being caught within and outside the slot. The Department of Natural Resources' five point plan, which included stocking, cormorant reduction and habitat restoration, has been very successful. It worked so well that it surprised even them! We should also mention the perch are plentiful, as are crappie in the spring and fall.
Bottom line – Leech Lake affords a memorable fishing experience.
Even if you don't ever catch a trophy fish, you will go home with wonderful memories of time spent with your family and your fishing buddies.
Sugar Point has a large protected harbor offering full gas and bait services. We offer a wide choice of rental boat and motor combinations, or a slip for your own boat.
